The American business magazine just released its 100 Most Powerful Celebrities list, and they say that Lady Gaga is this year’s number one.
With $90m, Gaga wasn’t the highest-earning celebrity of the year—what pushed her to the top of the pile was the wide-reaching power she wields through traditional and social media outlets. Her influence on the worlds of music, fashion, technology and entertainment, combined with her fans’ fervent devotion, means that any product she endorses turns to gold. (Except cigarette glasses. Those just aren’t safe.)
Other style-setters who made the list include Angelina Jolie (number 11, for being the only woman making money in action roles), Beyonce Knowles (22, in light of her forthcoming album and lucrative endorsement deals), and Gisele Bundchen (60, for all the reasons the publication provided when they named her the world’s top-earning model).
Kristen Stewart, Reese Witherspoon, Natalie Portman and Cameron Diaz also appear. So does someone named Larry the Cable Guy, but we’re sure he’s of paramount importance to Forbes readers.
